Winter Decorations

While flowers and leafy trees abound in spring and summer, winter brings its own beauty into the cemetery. Families are welcome to decorate their loved ones’ graves in accordance with the following rules:

For all Mt. Elliott Cemeteries

Winter decorations can be placed Nov 15 or later only. Anything placed prior to this date will be removed as ground crews are still doing fall clean-up work.

• All winter decorations are removed beginning March 1 (weather dependent) in preparation for spring clean-up.
• Grave blankets can be full or half size.
• Wreaths may be placed on easels only, and located at the head of the grave.
• Any outdoor winter decorations need to be natural evergreen boughs.
• No Christmas trees or shrubs may be placed or planted.
• Grave topiaries on a pole and placed at the head of the memorial marker are acceptable.

Mausoleum decoration rules are dependent on the cemetery

• All Saints Cemetery – This property only has outdoor crypts and niches, and arrangements must be real.
• Guardian Angel Cemetery – Crypts and niches located outside may display real or artificial arrangements. Any arrangements for indoor crypts and niches must be artificial.
• Mt. Elliott Cemetery – Crypts and niches located outside may display real or artificial arrangements. Any arrangements for indoor crypts and niches must be artificial.
• Mt. Olivet Cemetery – Crypts and niches located outside may display real or artificial arrangements. Any arrangements for indoor crypts and niches must be artificial.
• Resurrection Cemetery – Crypts and niches located outside may display real or artificial arrangements. Any arrangements for indoor crypts and niches must be artificial.
